I mean I'm in business, so practicalities prevent me from making the following explanation every time I use the term ( although I do explain sometimes) GIA does NOT certify diamonds. The words certify, or certificate, indicate an endorsement, or license. GIA issues Identification Reports on diamonds, colored stones and jewelry. Identification Reports, that's it. The other thing GIA does is train people. That does NOT include certifying these people either. In other words, GIA certifies that the person completed the course- this is a far different thing than say, a dentist or doctor which is "board certified" Now, if a person or company is making a claim that a diamond examined by someone who completed GIA's courses is anything like a diamond with a GIA report- that's  misleading.   Yada yada yada - this pair of earrings comes with not one- but TWO GIA reports! It's a lovely match- each diamond a gem in it's own right. You're buying GIA H/SI1's- that's a solid quality. H is quite white, and these are totally eye clean SI1. Still the price is reasonable- here's why: Ovals are about 15% less than rounds. One diamond is 1.00ct- the other is .93ct. This is .07 less than 1.00- yet this diamond actually cost 20%  less than the other. It all adds up to a very unique pair of platinum ear studs.
