Well known Navajo oldstyle artists G*i*l*b*e*r*t  T*o*m and K*i*r*k  S*m*i*t*h, for example, apprenticed with H*a*r*r*y. H*a*r*r*y's former wife, B*e*t*t*y  J*o*e (Kirk's sister), worked his original squash designs for many years, and their daughter S*e*l*e*n*a W*a*r*n*e*r has carried on in that tradition. They're inserted so I can tell you about Jacob Morgan's superb 'pedigree' without violating ebay's key word spamming policy ;-) When you look carefully at this oldstyle row bracelet with the old pawn finish that H*a*r*r*y invented years ago, you can find all the key elements that H*a*r*r*y passed on -- clean lines, a simple oldstyle design meticulously executed, and the highest quality turquoise -- in this case very expensive natural blue green Fox turquoise with outstanding matrix that includes inclusions. The matrix and inclusions do not diminish their value -- it's the kind of natural turquoise that you used to find in very old bracelets before the modern era of the 'perfect' enhanced and stabilized stone -- better turquoise through chemistry -- that persuaded so many that only perfectly domed and smooth stones were acceptable ;-) From left to right, the teardrop shaped stone on the far left measures 11/16ths" by 3/8ths;" the next tear drop shaped stone on the left measures ¾" by 3/8ths;" the large teardrop center stone measures 1" by ¾;" the teardrop stone on the right measures ¾" 3/8ths;" and the teardrop shaped stone on the far right measures 5/8ths" by 3/8ths." The all have excellent thickness as well. All stones are mounted in a Navajo shadowbox bezels with fine twisted rope wire overlays surrounding each stone. The center and two end stones are accented with double clusters of varrious sized aindrop bead overlays. The bracelet is 1¼" wide in the center with Jacob's custom made hand split four wire bracelet frame rejoining at mid shank where he hand stamped two rows of rain cloud designs along the edges and rattlesnake jaw and mirrored mountain designs in the center. The scalloped shanks and terminals are ½" wide. The bracelet has an inside measurement of 5¼" with a carefully adjustable opening gap of 1 and 1/8th" making it ideal for wrists that are 6" to 6¼" or very slightly more in circumference. Owned by Dowell Ward, the Fox mining district is located in near northeast central Nevada is one of the state's most prolific and high quality turquoise mines. Turquoise from this area has had several names over the years (Fox, Green Tree, Smith, and White Horse) to differentiate among the various turquoise colors this area produces.
