KIRK SMITH hid Coral ! Navajo TURQUOISE Silver BRACELET NATIVE AMERICAN HAND MADE STERLING SILVER & NATRUAL GEMSTONES CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND PROVENANCE INCLUDEDTHESE ARE PICTURES OF THE ACTUAL ITEM OFFERED! THESE ARE NOT, NOT, NOT "SAMPLE" PICTURES! THEY ARE THE REAL DEAL - JUST LIKE US! KIRK SMITH ? FAMOUS NAVAJO ARTIST ONE of a KIND! INCREDIBLE NATURAL BATTLE MOUNTAIN MINE TURQUOISE & HIDDEN SURPRISE CORAL! OLD STYLE NAVAJO HAND MADE STERLING SILVER BRACELET! HARRY MORGAN OLD STYLE ONE of a KIND - NEW, ORIGINAL KIRK SMITH DESIGN This bracelet was made by KIRK SMITH, NAVAJO, and if you have never heard his name before, be prepared to hear it many times in the future. Kirk has become one of the most established and respected jewelry artists throughout the Navajo Nation. And he is still on the rise! Just look at the bracelet and you will see why! What you can also see is the influence of his mentor and brother-in-law, world famous artist, HARRY MORGAN! Not only did Kirk learn from Harry, to this very day Kirk works out of Harry's studio/workshop, even when Harry's out wandering! It's too bad you can't touch it! You'd never let go!! A number of years ago we asked Kirk to design a multi-gemstone bracelet in his own style. Eventually he did, and while it was pretty and all that - it never quite lived up to the excitement of his other designs. Eventually he started making them in the same shape as his classic cluster style. Next his joy in color took wings! He is back to work now, although on a very limited basis, so we asked him to do one more! Wow! He has given us one of the most striking and colorful bracelets he has ever made! Guess he just got tired of people saying how they had just spoken with him the other day - and then turn around and bad mouth him as "pass????" when they wanted to sell someone's cheaper copy of his work! So here is something totally new! A bracelet that is truly one of a kind! This bracelet is a completely new and original design by Kirk himself. We have been pleased that for over a decade Kirk has offered his new designs to howlingdogtrader first, and that we can give our internet friends the first opportunity without a middleman upping the price and before a gallery takes through the roof! This bracelet features one huge, amazing Battle Mountain Mine Turquoise gemstone with intricate and ornage decorative elements Kirk has never used. He has used the Repousee technique to make individual shapes that are applied on either side of the gem. Then he has jazzed up the Twisted Rope motif by using hand twisted wire! Do you have any idea how long it took to twist Sterling Silver wire to make enough to make that many curliques? Whew! BUT HERE'S THE SURPRISE! Look at the picture of the back opening of the bracelet, and what do you see! Two amazing BRACH CORAL GEMS! Oh, boy howdy, now everyone in their brother will have to copy this. But remember you saw it here first, and that it was Kirk Smith's idea! The bracelet has 5 strong Sterling Silver bands that are spread at the front to support the gem and decorative elements and then brought together at the back. BRACELET DIMENSIONS: WIDTH OF STERLING SILVER BRACELET: At the front: 1-7/8 inches. WIDTH OF STERLING SILVER BARS: 7/8 inch at the back opening. LENGTH OF CORAL GEMS: 7/8 inch. BRACELET INTERIOR: 5-3/8 inches. BACK OPENING: 1 inch. WE CAN CUSTOM SIZE FOR YOUR WRIST BETWEEN: LARGEST WRIST SIZE: 7 inches SMALLEST WRIST SIZE: 6-1/4 inches. BRACELET MATERIAL: ENTIRELY STERLING SILVER. GEMSTONE MATERIALS: ALL NATURAL BATTLE MOUNTAIN MINE TURQUOISE & MEDITERRANEAN CORAL. TURQUOISE GEMSTONE SIZE: 1-1/2 inches high by 7/8 inch wide. WEIGHT: 122 grams CONDITION: EXCELLENT, NEW NEVER WORN. And, NOW, what takes this bracelet beyond being merely FABULOUS is the STERLING SILVER Bracelet and setting! Kirk has used an "Old Style" finish that is somewhere between brushed and matte. This finishing technique was perfected by HARRY MORGAN who made it famous! It very much gives the visual appeal of pieces normally only found in Dead Pawn vaults! The bracelet is very stout and strong, massive even, just like the Old Pawn bracelets that it resembles! The bracelet is comprised of 5 strong bars that are spread at the front to support the gems and then taper towards the back gap where they are closer together. Kirk uses very heavy gauge Sterling! The Sterling Silver is just over 1/8 inch thick! This gives the bracelet extraordinary quality and strength! All Kirk Smith bracelets are of the highest quality and quite hefty, but this bracelet is more than 15 grams more beefy that his other styles, primarily because of the big, big gem. The opening at the back also allows you to adjust the size of the bracelet somewhat. By gently applying pressure this space can be made smaller or larger to adjust the fit to you. This adjusting should always be done from the back only so that the front side of the bracelet is not altered or damaged. To determine correct sizing, add the interior Sterling dimension to the back gap to get the total circumference, or size of wrist. Because of the care and strength needed to adjust the size of this bracelet properly, please notify us if you need the size modified and it will done to your specifications. Serious collectors will always ask the weight of a Native American bracelet. Weigh verifies worth and determines how well it will wear over the years. All Kirk?s work has been of the highest caliber, and this bracelet is exceptional by this criterion as well. Look at that hefty weight! This bracelet is appropriate to be worn with pride by either a man or a woman. This bracelet is has a STERLING HALLMARK and is Navajo artist signed, "Kirk Smith" in script lettering. This is his most recent hallmark stamp for this wildly successful and very original artist. He went to this mark to thwart copy cats, but it sure is a good way to tell if a piece has been sitting on the shelf too long! Demand for this Old Pawn Style work by Kirk Smith remains in strong demand by galleries and collectors world-wide. His work is now in the permanent collection of the famous HEARD MUSEUM (but they have none of his pieces available for resale), and if you pick up a western fashion magazine, you will see his work on models for both Double D Ranchwear & Saddle Ridge! This is an excellent opportunity to obtain this valuable one-of-a-kind piece for a true BARGAIN price! When an artist reaches the peak of his career there are those who copy and complain, but the true collector with refined tastes will always prefer the quality of a master work over the pretensions of a counterfeit! BATTLE MOUNTAIN TURQUOISE MINE There are actually several small mines in the Battle Mountain Mining District of Nevada. These mines produce both blue and greenish tones of turquoise gemstone with lovely matrix or veins in dark brown, caramel, and honey. The Blue Gem, Dry Creek, Carlin, Orville Jack, Edgar No. 8, and the Lander Mines is also located in Lander County, as well as copper mining interests.
