Description
Welcome back to my sales!  For this auction, I offer the best of the best in collectible handwrought jewelry.  If I didn't need the $$$, I wouldn't be selling this now. This is a fabulous, huge cuff bracelet made by ERIC RHEIN.  It is from 1987 and there is only one.  Eric made jewelry for only a small amount of time during his incredible and continuing career and his peaces are noted in full color hard copy of "Art in America," "American Jewelry Masters," "Art and Craft for Jewelry (1994)" and in countless reviews and articles. While living in Manhattan, he shows internationally. He is most famous for the sets designed for the New York and other ballet companies and for his wire and found pieces' sculptures.  He is inspired by the many who have died from AIDS and works to increase awareness of the disease. He can be found online with many references.  To my knowledge, there are no jewelry pieces available in shops or galleries--only in collections. This cuff, which has never been worn and from my personal collection, depicts his work with wire armature and found objects--each with a theme.  This one is clearly military but in a mythological sense. The inside is brown suede.  The hard cuff has metal mesh roping around the entire bracelet edge and in between various sections.  There is raised (hard) material to provide a 3-D impact. The material is gold brocade on black, gold on silk (from an antique OBI), and real gold mesh from some sort of military uniform.  Using found objects for accents, there is an antique gold button on the bottom, a winged gold "be prepared" insignia and a large Hermes, the winged warrior, coin. It is truly amazing and measures 4.5" down the middle (including the hanging mesh) by .25" at the ends.  The opening is 1" and although hard, has some flexibility and is very comfortable to wear--a major collectible and statement piece, which will only continue to increase in value. Offered without reserve! Shop with confidence.  I have been in the jewelry and accessories business for 38 years and on ebay since almost inception.  I offer a satisfaction guarantee by issuing a full refund if not as described in terms of accuracy and detail.  I have thousands and thousands of pieces, so if you don't see what you seek, let me know!  Make sure to visit the other items on ebay and save on shipping.  Be sure to visit my shop, DIVA, if in the Boston area! Shipping is $6.50 for priority. Insurance is optional (recommended) and per USPS rates.  If not in the USA, I will find the shipping cost and get back to you.  I always post positive feedback upon payment receipt.  Thanks for looking!
